ProofTap Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 25, 2026 Version: 1.0

This Privacy Policy describes how ProofTap LLC (“ProofTap,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and retains information in connection with the ProofTap mobile application, website, web portal, scanner pages, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”). It applies both to persons who create records through the Platform and to persons who view records without creating them.

Read Section 4 before using the Platform. Certain information you submit is written to a public blockchain, where it is permanent, publicly readable, and outside ProofTap’s control. It cannot be deleted, corrected, or made private afterward, by us or by anyone.

1. Who We Are and How to Reach Us

ProofTap LLC is a Michigan limited liability company located at 23576 Parke Ln. Grosse Ile, Michigan, 48138. For any question about this Policy or about your information, contact legal@prooftap.io.

2. Our Approach

The Platform is designed to minimize the collection of personal information. ProofTap does not require you to create a traditional user account or to provide your name, mailing address, or government identification to access the Platform’s core functionality. We collect only what is reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Platform.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information you provide

  • Record content. The item descriptions, identifiers, serial numbers, specifications, images, notes, and other content you submit when creating a record.

  • Producer information. Where you register as a producer, the business name, brand name, contact email, and verification materials you provide.

  • Correspondence. Information contained in messages you send to us, including support requests and legal notices.

3.2 Information collected automatically

  • Wallet and transaction data. Public wallet addresses, transaction identifiers, policy identifiers, token identifiers, and associated on-chain activity.

  • Tag data. Tag unique identifiers, authentication results, scan counts, and scan timestamps.

  • Device and connection data. Device type, operating system and version, application version, language, IP address, and general location derived from IP address at the city or regional level.

  • Usage data. Pages and records viewed, searches performed, features used, timestamps, referring source, and error and performance diagnostics.

  • Server logs. Standard web server logs generated by our hosting infrastructure, which include IP addresses and request metadata.

  • Acceptance records. The date, time, version of the applicable terms, and the identifier associated with your acceptance of those terms.

3.3 Information we do not collect

ProofTap does not collect or store private keys, seed phrases, or recovery phrases. ProofTap cannot access your wallet and cannot recover it. We do not knowingly collect information from any person under eighteen (18) years of age.

4. Blockchain Information Is Public and Permanent

When you create a record, the information in that record is written to a public blockchain. Once written:

  • It is publicly readable by anyone, worldwide, without restriction.

  • It is permanent. It cannot be edited, deleted, hidden, or recalled by ProofTap, by you, or by any other party.

  • It is outside ProofTap’s custody and control. ProofTap does not operate the blockchain and cannot alter what it contains.

  • It may be copied, indexed, archived, and republished by third parties over whom ProofTap has no control.

A wallet address is pseudonymous rather than anonymous. A wallet address, together with its transaction history, may be linked to an identifiable person by analysis or by information obtained elsewhere. Treat anything you write to a blockchain as permanently public.

You alone decide what to put into a record. Do not include any information you are unwilling to publish permanently, including names, contact information, addresses, photographs of people, or any sensitive personal information.

5. How We Use Information

  • To operate, maintain, and provide the Platform and its features;

  • To write records to the blockchain at your direction;

  • To authenticate tags and display verification results;

  • To secure the Platform, detect and investigate fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access, and enforce our terms;

  • To diagnose errors, measure performance, and improve the Platform;

  • To produce aggregated or de-identified statistics, including counts of records created, redemption credits issued and claimed, and verification activity;

  • To respond to your inquiries and provide support; and

  • To comply with law and respond to lawful requests.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own advertising purposes.

6. Service Providers

We share information with vendors that perform services for us, under contracts that limit their use of it to providing those services. These include our cloud hosting and infrastructure provider, blockchain node and indexing providers, application distribution platforms, error monitoring and analytics providers, and email service providers.

Our primary hosting infrastructure is located in the United States. See Section 9 regarding international transfers.

7. Other Disclosures

We may disclose information where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of ProofTap, our users, or the public; or is necessary to investigate or address suspected fraud, security incidents, or violations of our terms. We may also disclose information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy continuing to apply.

8. Retention

We retain information we control for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy and to comply with our legal obligations. Acceptance records are retained for so long as necessary to enforce the applicable terms.

Information we control may persist in encrypted system backups after deletion from our active systems. We do not restore backups in order to recover deleted information except as required for disaster recovery.

Information written to a public blockchain is retained permanently by the blockchain and is not subject to this Section. See Section 4.

9. International Transfers

ProofTap operates from the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, you understand that information we control may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or in other countries where our service providers operate, and that privacy laws in those countries may differ from those in your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10. Your Choices and Rights

You may stop using the Platform at any time. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of information that ProofTap controls, and you may object to or request restriction of certain processing, by contacting legal@prooftap.io. We will respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your request.

Important limitation. These rights extend only to information within ProofTap’s control. They do not and cannot extend to information written to a public blockchain, which ProofTap has no technical ability to access, modify, or erase. We cannot honor a deletion request as to blockchain content, and no provider of this type of service can.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority or state regulator.

11. Security

We employ commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information under our control, including encryption in transit, access controls, and logging. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, software vulnerability, phishing, malware, or device compromise will never occur.

You are solely responsible for safeguarding your device, your credentials, and your wallet recovery phrase. ProofTap cannot recover a lost wallet or lost digital assets.

12. Children

The Platform is not directed to children. You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Platform. If we learn that we have collected information from a person under that age, we will delete it from systems we control.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. We will post the revised Policy with a new effective date and version number. Where a change materially and adversely affects your rights, we will provide at least thirty (30) days advance notice through the Platform or to the contact information you provided, and the change will take effect only after that period.
